MEET DR. DARREN LOEW

Dr. Darren Loew feels that orthodontics is the greatest profession on earth. It allows him to have a unique relationship with children at a very important time in their lives. It also enables him to help adults achieve better oral health and often do something they have always wanted but could not afford to do previously: show off a beautiful smile!

Dr. Loew attended Bucknell University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and education. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, and his orthodontic residency was completed at Children’s Hospital.

He serves on the faculty at Washington Hospital Center, where he teaches the orthodontic residents. This is a great way for him to keep up on the latest that orthodontics has to offer and give back to the profession he loves. Dr. Loew also attends many continuing education courses throughout the year.

Dr. Loew is very involved in the community as a local business owner and loves knowing, seeing, and interacting with so many wonderful people in and out of the office. He has been involved in the Rotary Club for many years and recently held the title of president of his chapter. He visits local schools and speaks to the third-grade classes about their dental health during Children’s Dental Health Month in February.

As an office, Loew and Patel Orthodontics runs a fundraiser with Autism NJ every spring. Every November, we host our annual Candy Buy Back to collect candy that is later donated to the troops. We give patients $1 per pound, an amount matched by Dr. Loew and Dr. Patel, and donate all the money to HOPs (Hunterdon Outreach Programs).

We also throw a Patient Appreciation Day (PAD) once a year to show our patients how much they mean to us. We just had our 14th annual PAD in September!

Dr. Loew is married to his wonderful wife Liz, whom he met in college. They have four amazing children — Sarah, Katie, Meredith, and David — with whom he loves spending time and enjoys watching grow. When he has free time, he enjoys physical fitness, skiing, traveling, and of course, playing golf.
